Just wondering if anyone's used it to run Windows XP in a Linux installation?

Contemplating giving this a shot vs. dual booting Windows/Linux. I have a new laptop on the way so I was thinking I'd play with the old one first to see what I needed to do to get it set up or if I could. I have the system restore CD that might be an issue, since it's not just a XP installation CD. Anyone have any experience with this or thoughts?

Nevermind, found the answer on the Win4Lin forum.

Seems that it won't work without real Windows install CDs.

Windows 98 install disks are sheep though and ArcView3.3 is still supported on Win98 which is what I want/need for the most part.

I use VMWare, myself. It'll cost you about $100 (educational price), but it's well worth it. You can order it at ProgrammersParadise.com at the educational rate. Win4lin Pro (which you need for WinXP) is about $80. I've never used it so I can't say how it compares. I love VMWare and wouldn't do Windows any other way.

Note: gentoo has a vmware 5.5 package, so you don't even have to download the binary, you just need the license key to unlock it.
